MEET DR. GABI IM

DMD

Dr. Gabi Im was born and raised in New York, about 30 minutes outside NYC, with her parents, older brother, and lots of extended family. She grew up swimming competitively and played the violin for 17 years. At the end of high school, Dr. Gabi decided she wanted to become a dentist and applied to a 7-year program where undergraduate school and dental school were combined. She was accepted and attended Villanova University for 3 years (go Wildcats!) and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine for 4 years.

Dr. Gabi received a full scholarship during dental school to obtain a Masters in Public Health. Through her research, she was able to open up a dental clinic at a homeless shelter for youth ages 18-21 in Philadelphia. Dr. Gabi also received a scholarship from the United States Air Force. Upon graduating dental school, Dr. Gabi served as a Captain at Joint Base Andrews and Osan Air Base. Additionally, she went through a rigorous post-grad residency program through the Air Force that honed her dental skills. It was during this time that Dr. Gabi developed a love for restoring patient’s smiles both cosmetically and functionally to provide a better quality of life for her patients. Dr. Gabi was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal upon separation.

When Dr. Gabi is not in the office, she likes to bike (and even biked across the country!) and picks up new hobbies like golfing or crocheting. She is also a huge foodie and can’t wait to hear all your restaurant recommendations! Dr. Gabi lives in Dallas with her husband and adorable dog.
